John Cabot wanted to find a passage to Asia from the West but needed the money to buy ships and hire sailors to help him. He first went to Spain to seek help. But he did not recieve it there. So he went to England and met King Henry VII. The King agreed to support him and give him money for the trip. John Cabot also got married to an Italian woman named Mattea and had three sons named Sebastian, Ludvico,and Sanico.
